3ds MAX 7 displaying models as bounding box...

In all my scenes now, the models are displayed as bounding boxes whenever I pan or arc rotate. I have no idea why it started doing this, or how to change it back. Can anyone help? It's damn near impossible to work with.

On another note... Does anyone know of some good reference material for texturing a character model? I need to have a completed model next week for a final, and the texturing is proving to be pretty troublesome.

Hola:

1. I'll look into the first question of yours, as I haven't experienced the bounding boxes acting strangely lately :|

2. What kind of character are you trying to texture? Human, animal or fantasy creature?
- Have you done the UV Maps for the model?

Ugh... It was obviously some sort of optimization thing to make it run smoother, but it really wasn't helping me. I even tried reinstalling to see if it would change it back, since it wasn't doing it from the start. But that didn't work. You know how to change it? You press the O key, of all the stupid *** things.
