3ds max, adding an image to a plane

hey

i'm trying to add a background image to a place in 3d max.

the process i have been trying to do it via is by:

opening up the material editor,

going to maps

selecting none by diffuse

going to bitmaps

and then finding my required image.

however when i apply the image to the plane it appears extremly blurred an not recogniseable.

i was wondering if ne1 could tell me where im going wrong. is it because im selecting the none option by diffuse?

ne help would be much appreciated!:p

you mised one step out ..

add a UVWMap to your plain (modifyers dropdown near the bottom)

just add it .. at the bottom is a button called fit hit that and it should fit your plain also it might not assign to your plain properly you might have to realign it by changeing the x y z think it comes on the z axsis by diffault just tick the right button. if you do then hit the fit button again.

this will make it clearer .. but remember it is draft view in the viewport and always will be slightly blured till you render.

this can be improved to an exstent by altering .....

customise
preferences
viewport tabs
configure driver
download texture size
512 is the best

but this might slow down max for you so you might have to change this setting again to get it right for your machine

Hope it helps

Drew
