How to populate database

Hello Friends,
I am basically a new programmer in ASP.net and I want you guys to help me in my little trouble. What I want to ask is

Consider i have a data base with two attributes
Register ( This is Table name)
Username Email
Jim Whateverishere

Now I will make a Textbox in ASP in that text box I enter Username I want that user name to be written in my database table named as Register.

And I have to implement a class Register in C# and from this class I have to populate the data in database

Please help me in doing this basically I have to implement an entire registration process but I just want you guys to show me the way to implement it.

Take Care

I am little bit confused as I can't understand whether you are using Asp or Asp.Net?

It would be best to use VS 2010 as frontend and Sql server 2010 as backend to develop such project.

OK, this question happens to be a question of data binding in gridview. Gridview contains tables that being able to store the records and tuples of the database. Take a look at the relevant tutorials of how to populate data in gridview, you will get the steps.
