Help with landscape reflection in text

I couldn't find a tutorial on this, so I hope someone can help me with this or refer me to a tutorial

I want to create a logo like this:

I want to create a landscape reflection in text, like in the examples above

You can just take a regular landscape image, place a black layer over the top of it, then cut out your text for simple 2D text. However if you'd like a 3D effect you'd have to find your preferred method for extruding the text and then basically do the same thing, a text cut-out.
