Logo design

hey guys. i got some questions upon my logo designs. i got it to spin like a real news type of logo. but what i need to do is make the font popout. god i really have a truoble on that one. anybody knows how to make the font pop out so its more 3d-ish. also, where can i set the background layer to tranparen? if anbody can hepl me, i would be soo greatful. well thanks for reading and taking yur time to read this. if anybody needs to no how to do a basic logo design then just ask me.

I think I understand what you are saying by 3d ish. If your text is currently flat you will need to add an extrusion on the text. If you are using a program like 3d max it is relatively easy. In 3d max add an extrude modifier and you're done.
