Need to build a room with a divider

Hello I am new to 3DS MAX and I was wondering if anyone could teach me to build a nice looking room. The room is 6x6x3 feet with a divider in the center. Also I need to learn how to cut out holes in the walls for venting. If some one could help me out that would be great. thanks guys peace out

I little hand

If you have 3dsmax 6 its easy.Make a box in the dimensions you like (just consider that is the floor so it will be fit) convert that to mesh(if you want to cut any corners). Then, go to Create>AEC Objects>Wall. Now about the ventelation holes. Make the shape-object and poot it there you want the hole. Select the walls and go to Create>Compound>bollean. In the boolean options witch is on the left on the screen click the button "Pick Opand B" and that's it you have the hole. If you want another hole just do the boolean procedure again.

Enjoy

Yes, as I always say:

"When in doubt, boolean it out."

Re: Need to build a room with a divider

I use the boolean to make windows ,door ways but i allso make rooms for my games with the boolean procedure make your room the size you want then copy it make the 2nd one smaller then pull up the 2nd box to even out the sides use the boolean procedure to cut out the room invert
the room if you want . i allso take photos of real textures of brick with my dig cam then edit it in photo shop then drag the photo to a mat slot place it on my room, floor what ever ,make sure you add a uvw map so you can size the texture of the bricks or wood.
