How do i curve an object without distorting its size

Hello, I am very new to blender and have zero experience in 3D rendering. I work for an art studio and we are using blender to create objects for our 3D printer.

The current one I am working on is a mount for a butterfly we created, we wanted this mount to be the same size as the object we are mounting on it. In this case a embroidered butterfly. We scanned the embroidered butterfly and created a vector file for it. I imported that svg file into blender and created a quad mesh in the shape of the vector file. I then subdivided and extruded it to my liking and got the butterflies overall shape and size accurately using imperial units.

The problem is I am trying to get the wings to curve as if it were in motion but every time I use the bezier curve tool it stretches the object causing its size to distort which means the embroidered butterfly we are going to mount on it will no longer fit properly. Is there any way to just curve the wings without that happening? Or am I doing something wrong (well, i know i am)? I will be more than happy to send the blend file via email if someone would like to take a look at it or provide any additional information that is needed.

Thank you

Im not sure if I fully understand, you can email me though I cannot link my email on this forum yet

Some options:
Press ctrl + a and apply scales.
Use hooks to object and then make curve vertex parent of hook
Use the curve to displace a mesh which inturn uses meshdeform.
There should be a button in the properties or curve options for 'stretch to bounds' from memory (sorry on phone)
Object origin and curve are alined

I have a video on youtube which is all about curve manipulation also may help. EYN2K
