Bat Wing
I'm trying to create a 3D bat and I'm having some problems with the wings. I'm mostly self taught and this is probably an easy question to answer. For the wings I'm trying to create a 2 sided plane so that I can see the polygons on both sides of the wing. I created two planes and attached the vertexes. I checked the normals and they are fine, but when I went to move the vertexes I started getting some strange shadow effects on a flat plane. Does anyone know if I did something wrong or if there is a more effective way to create wings or 2 sided plane?

wouldnt it just be so much easier to make a really thin box?

why have a 2 sided plain when a 2 side material will work?
and yes a 2 side plain will cause render problems y not buld the ribs of your wing from boxs then make the thin skin from a single plain and just attach it? |

You attached the vertices of opposing faces together?! thats a no no in 3d modelling as the age old rule suggests...no to objects should occupy the same space. if you are creating a static object and not animating it, the better way of achieving this is to shell the plane using a very small amount.
