creating a WINDOW
Hey, i'm newbie with 3dsmax 8 and i have a question: If I make a box (wall) how can I make a window in in? I cannot seem to find any easy way doing this... I tried to make window with vectors, but it didn't work that well... If anyone can show me HOW to do this, I would be pleased!
Thanks! |

Probably the simplest way is to turn your box into an editable poly (right-click the box-->Convert to-->Editable poly) then activate the polygon selection mode in the modify panel (click the small + next to the name of the box and select polygon) then click on the face you want your window to be on and click on the small grey button next to the word 'Inset' also in the modify panel, you can then use extrude with a negative value to sink the face into the wall.
