How to make realistic duvet/curtains etc
Ok, I'm trying to model my bedroom, I pretty much have all the furniture modelled, but I don't know how to model cloth objects like duvets & curtains (drapes)
![]() I have the bed made, and a rough matress and pillow, how would I go about making a duvet for it, as well as make the pillow and matress more realistic? |

Try using mesh smooth modifier and then the ffd box modifier to give it a shape.
If you want a bed sheet on your bed, then use the cloth reactor. For curtains, use a spline, extrude it, then apply the ffd box modifier to give it a shape. Its a crude method, but it saves a lot of time if you want to model the things quick. Just give it a right kind of texture. If you use loft then you will have much more control over the shape of the curtains. (Here i am talking about max7 and not the higher versions as i have not worked on them)

tried reactor cloth, but I don't know how to do it.
I've had a go at making it by hand, but it just looks like it's made out of modelling clay. ![]() Not impressed with it at all. Any other suggestions? How would I do the reactor cloth one? |
