Wire shpere object

Hello

I am new in 3D graphic and just started learning 3D Max few days ago but I have to do a short animation for my friend and had problem with it. For most of you I think it's very easy project and it will take you 5min with rendering but for me it's dificult. Anyway I have to make this URL but of course it must be full sphere and all "wires" can be the same. I made sphere in 3D max and turned on wires option in materials window but it;s not what I excacly need, there was too many "wires". I noticed that count of "wires" depends from segment option but with 5-6 segments it wasn't sphere.

Please if anyone can tell me how can I do this or give me link to tutorial.

Thank you

PS. Sorry for my not good english.

try playing with the modifier lattice this will give you the cage also if you turn it into editablepolly you can delete the edges you don't need and it will keep it's shape ...

create sphere
convert to editable polly
add modifier lattice
turn off joints
remove unwanted edge loops
render

hope it helps

Tip

if you then convert it to editable polly you can select the joint vetex and scale them to give you the thicker or thiner lines you ned to fully copy the image you showed

try to select one edge in edditablepolly and at the top of the roll out is some buttons called ring and loop .... you can use these to select more edges at once ..... also if you don't want a full sphere you can tick the slice on radio button when you create the sphere this also will cut down the amout of edges you see

hope it helps
