I think the following query it will work in db2


CREATE FUNCTION GetProposalStatus(PSID INT)
RETURNS VARCHAR(4000)
DETERMINISTIC NO EXTERNAL ACTION CONTAINS SQL
BEGIN ATOMIC
DECLARE Status VARCHAR(50);
SET Status=
(
case PSID
when 1 then 'Pending';
when 3 then 'Approved';
when 2 then 'Rejected';
End Case;
)
Return Status;
End
