In Flash. You will need to add a command to open the page on the button press: something like

Code:
on(release){
      getURL("http://www.mysite.com/", "_blank");
}

or preferably (more powerful):
Code:
buttonInstanceName.onRelease = function() {
     getURL("http://www.mysite.com/", "_blank");
}

Instead of "http://www.mysite.com" - type your page address: like getURL("index.html");

I copied the first and wrote the second, so the second may have a small error in it. Its been years since I coded in actionscript. If you chose the second and it errors, just read the error and comprehend it as usual, post it here if you need to.

Hope this helps,
David

Thanks David. i found a youtube video on linking the button to a url. but i was wondering if there is a way to do it in dreamweaver itself without changing it in flash itself.

I'm pretty sure there is not. Considering they're both adobe products, maybe one day there will be. But think of it like an image, you can't edit an image in dreamweaver. It sucks, but this is the way it is.
