Help with linking an image
I am fairly new to Dreamweaver. My ISP gives me limited space for a webpage, so I'm trying to keep my files small. I want to display a small thumbnail image, and link it to a larger image on photobucket. So I uploaded the thumbnail to my site, and uploaded the larger image to bucket. After getting the code from photobucket I inserted it into the "link" area. However, the thumbnail image viewed correctly, but when I inserted the code in the link area, the thumbnail disappeared and the code appeared in its place. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help you can give me. |

Photobucket expects you to embed it in the code itself.
Just use the actual http://... link in the code. I think that should work, I don't use dreamweaver...

I did use the direct link http:.....
I even tried loading the photo to fileden to see if that made a difference but I get the same results. It must be something really stupid that I'm doing but just can't figure it out! Thanks for trying. |

Any chance you can provide us with the code you're working with?

I finally got it to work! I really don't understand what the difference is, but I originally posted the link at the bottom of the screen where it says "link". That's where I've put all my links, and they've all worked fine; but the link to photobucket didn't work that way. I right-clicked on the thumbnail photo, and there was a link option there, so that's where I inserted it. It did not replace my thumbnail like previously, but it did insert itself at the bottom where it says "link". It just wouldn't let me insert it there. Anything to make life more confusing!!
Thanks for the help! |
