Removing "Crawling ants"

Removing "Crawling ants"

After creating and using a rectangular selection, the boundary, described in the manual as "Crawling ants" remains. How can I remove it?

I've tried the eraser, and that doesn't wotk.

Try pushing Ctrl-Shift-A,
That will remove the selection, but make sure you're done with it first =D
