Necessary Fields in a table to determine ageing stock

i have a table named itemlocation
fields; location, itemcode, qty.
every time i perform a stock-in, this table will update its qty
equal to the itemcode being stock to the itemlocation table.

My problem is how am i going to trace how long that the particular item stays starting from the date received up to the current. will i put date received in my table itemlocation?

i'm really confused. i just want to create an ageing report. i'm new to this stuff. please help
