Talking Hello me again

Hello,

I am very, very new to all of this.
I have a few android app ideas that I would love to create. But I know that I have my work cut out for me as I have not used Java before. Did a little HTML but that was years ago. Any pieces of advise for a first time beginner would be fantastic and very much appreciated. I wish to create a game, not a puzzle type of game but one that is similar to the likes of doodle jump or don't know if anyone heard of this ninja chicken. Have a few educational type of ideas as well where it allows the child to draw, paint.
I have installed eclipse, java developer kit, Android SDK package, but would love to do beginners type of game tutorials - can anyone help? Am I right that Java would be the idea choice of programme that can create these games??

You are correct, yes. Java is ideal. However, HTML to Java is a HUGE jump. Have you done any object oriented programming (OOP)? Maybe in C? Or a variety? Or Python? Or maybe flash actionscript?

Have a look at Oracle's tutorials, they're probably a great place to start. I've only just started java... But may be able to help with eclipse and basic java stuff.

Hope this helps,
David
