Need help

See, I would like to recreate these images

The way I see it, the sand and sky where (badly done) by a 3d prog like 3ds max, as well as the egg itself it's twice the same egg.. but with another texture..

sadly enough I have no idea how to model the egg's and how to apply the textures, i have recently come in posession of 3ds max and maya (both the latest versions)
can anyone give me a hand on how to recreate these textures?
in maya or 3ds max;; (also on the first pic, the lighting seems to press trough an eerie blue glow, any ideas on how to recreate this aswell?)

well if you like to create your textures you can do it with the help of photoshop or you can search some cg websites for the free teaxtures for your egg i am not sure if you can find textures but try it i hope you will find,

i think for these renders you have used vue 5 infinite am i right?

your lighting is little bit not interesting need Nice looking GI.
