Wavy roof

I am just starting to learn working in 3DsMax, and I wanted to make some very simple buildings to use for a slums area...

For one of the buildings I wanted to make a roof made of waved metal, as is often used for cheap roofs for barns and the like.
I have made a Wave space warp with the desired pattern, but I can't set it to affect a box object, neither a Nurb.

However, I know I'm missing a very obvious step here...
Can anyone point this Noob in the right direction?

just quick questions have you linked your space warp to your roof?

have you enough segment for the wave to form?

Haha, hold on, that's the noob problem, how do I link them?

I guess my main problem is that if I make a box or a NURB, and I apply the wave deformer, the object stays flat. the only thing that changes is it's orientation.

So, on what object should I apply the wave?

on the top icons you will see a small box with lots of wiggly lines on it ( bind to spacewarp) just select your geometric / deformable wave in the viewport and drag to your object you wish to deform this should give you controle of it's shape provided it has enough pollys / segments in the right direction ...

My box didn't have enough segments, bacause I thought you meant the wave to have enough segments while you meant the box all along.

(Feeling a bit stupid at the moment...)
