Animation for a presentation?????

Hello.

I’m trying to make an animation for a presentation.

What I am looking to achieve is to zoom in on a certain point on a timeline. For example, at first the whole timeline is displayed (e.g. Aug07-Aug08), then it zooms in (or highlights) a specific area (e.g. Feb08-March08) in greater detail.

Any ideas how this could be achieved? My flatmate is a 3D animator. Would it be easier to get to create an animation and run it in PP as a video type file?

Thanking you.

B
