I am using PSP X3. Is it possibile to create a text with "star wars" effect ? Text inclined at 45° ?
I use PSP 9 but X3 should be similar and this inclined or narrowing from bottom to top is very possible.
Select the Text Tool and look for Create As:
on the Tool Options Palette and select Floating
. (If the Tool Options Palette is not visable try pushing F4). Then look for Direction:
and select Horizontal and Down
; this is the same as left to right. (This icon looks like a black arrow pointing down w/ red arrows pointing left and right).
The above suggested settings are very limited but will get you started. Block Letters seem to be the easiest to read, IMO but trial and error may help you get the look you
Your mouse pointer should now look like cross-hairs with a capitol A below. Click on your image and type your text in the Text Entry dialog box that pops up. When finished click Apply. Go to the Main Menu, near the top of your screen and click Selections, then go down and click Promote Selection to Layer. Click Selections again then click Select None.
Now select the Raster Deform Tool. (Mine is grouped with Straighten, Perspective Correction and Mesh Warp). Your text should now have a box around it. (This box looks like dotted lines with a small solid square between the corners and in the corners).
Now press and hold your keyboard Ctrl key while you click and drag one of the top corner squares towards the center. The narrowing will not be visable until you release the mouse button. If you don't like how it looks; click Edit then Undo and try again.
Dragging one of the bottom squares away from the center, you get the same effect but the bottom line of text becomes a bit fuzzy.
Now click the Reset button in the Raster Deform Tool Options Palette (this applies the Raster Deform change) or double click in the image and your done.
