Need help with a certain animation in PhotoShop/ImageReady

Looo guys.... I was wondering if you could help me with the following.

A guy i know from another forum has some amazing PS skillz. Now there is one certain skill he owns wich he won't share with us....
I was wondering if you guys know how to create this effect....

Plz look at the pics below what i mean :














I really want to know how the hell he managed to get that fantastic (imo) animation... Any suggesions? Maybe a tut somewhere?

well ill give it a shot and say he used filters for those backgrounds. He prob used like the clouds filters or one that makes it look like "fire" or "silk" i cant member, then he saved the pic like that then opened the orignal then added a different effect similar to that one then he kept doing that and he put them together as an animation. thats what i think.

Thats REALLY easy..

just use the gradient tool and select difference, then go wild until you have a nice effect, then to animate just move it around behind the layer.

yup thats what i thought also! it is quite easy, u can prob have the same effect if u use that blur and distort tool that moves everything around. just change it up a lil then put the pics together in an animation and voila.
