Premiere Pro makes my video black? Please help needed!!

Hi

I have just started to make a new video in Premiere and been able to save and open the files several times without any problem previously. But now something is wrong. Now to my question/problem.

When I play the video, I can hear the audio tracks, and all voices/audio from the actual video. But there is no video showing, and no titles either. I have tried to re-open the files but it doesnät work. Furthermore, when I double click on the files in the timeline window, the files open up as normal. However, I can't see the video or titles in the Program sequence window.

Please help me, I have no idea what to do!!

Try rendering the video. And make sure the workbar thing is stretched across the whole movie or just the part you wanna see.

I have tried this, and nothing happens. When I click in the Program Sequence window, I see the videoclip, but the video stops to play. Any other ideas??

No but i do remember having htis problem when working with a video for school. Ugh. Now this will irritate me all day. I think it has to do with the file type.

Hi

I might have the same problem;
the AVI's I import has no audio or picture, though the timecode is there. I can add titles and export perfectly (after rendered) but still no audio or video.

The AVI's plays perfectly in windows using normal players.

Could the problems be linked?

When it worked one day, but not the next, something has changed. Things like a simple OS update can kill your audio card drivers. Get the very latest and install that. Test.

Also, check Edit>Preferences>Audio and Audio Hardware, to make sure that nothing has changed there. Look especially closely at the ASIO Settings.

Good luck,

Download GSpot (freeware) and open the video files in it. It will tell you what the fle type is and will help us solve the problem for you. It sounds like you are attempting to open a mpeg/vob file.

I think I had the same problem.. One day its working and the next day it's black, and I couldn't import it again it would be black too?

What I did was right click the file in the project folder, go into the interpret footage menu and tick the 'ignore alpha' box. I did that and my footage went back to the way it was. Don't ask me how it got like that in the first place I've no idea!

I think you have miss matched the track or should changed the destination of the original clip before rendering

No Title

if in adobe premiere and this happens, try selecting the h.264 in the first drop down menu from the export menu.

Happened to me today, im learning it and my video took an hr to export and was 6gb and when played it was totally black. When I exported it with the right settings it was less than 500mb and played fine.
