Complicated file recovery

Well I kinda created a mess...

I learned online about this trick that lets you hide files in jpg pictures...
you just go to command promt and use the command "copy /b picture.jpg + file.rar picture.jpg"

well that worked fine and i could hide a compressed doc file in a picture...
I could open the picture with winrar and see my doc file.

but then I went and opened the pic and accidently modified it ( just a dot with a pencil somewhere ) and now rar wont read it...

Is there any way to recover it ?? it was kind of an important document.

I dont know if this helps, but before i modified the pic i cut and paste it out of the folder it was in

I mean it was in H:\folder\pic

and i moved it to H:\pic

then i moved it back to H:\folder\pic again

I think that should leave a copy of the unmodified pic in that hard disk right? can i recover this with some software? any help is welcome
